I saw a commercial online today that asked "What would you do if you would get paid for it?" It got me thinking.
We all work so hard, day in and day out to try to 'achieve'. We work full time jobs. Do Networking on our off time. Attend business functions. But are we doing the same things that we would be doing if it weren't about the income? Are we actually working towards our goals, or are we just working towards the paycheck?
I've been doing a lot of thinking about my goals the last couple of weeks, both personal and business, and I have come to the realization that quite a few of the things that I have been doing are because of the paycheck not because it helps me get any closer to my goals. Looking around I also realize that the people that I know that are the happiest are the ones working towards their individual goals. The are driven by their work. Not by their incomes.
I realize that money is a necessity in today's world but to spend hours, days, weeks of our lives consistently working just for the paycheck wears on us. It makes our lives less enjoyable.
Knowing now what I want I can start working on how to get it. This is something that I will be working on throughout the rest of this year and on an ongoing basis throughout my life. Things will be changing. I have tried several things over the last few years that didn't seem to pan out for one reason or another. I see now that the common denominator in all of these were me. I had a lot of "wants" in my life but no real 'goals'. That has changed now.
