Raleigh Photographer Jamie Starling Featured Artist at Electric Beanz Coffee Bar
Raleigh Location to Feature Local Artist’s Photos in Café
RALEIGH, N.C. – February 1, 2011 – Jamie Starling of Jamie Starling Photography, a Raleigh-based photographer who specializes in custom commercial photography, announced today that he has been chosen as Electric Beanz Coffee Bar’s Featured Artist of the Month for February 2011. Sixteen of Starling’s photographs, which include black and white photos of urban landscapes and nature, will be on display at Electric Beanz Coffee Bar’s Raleigh location. Customers visiting the coffee bar can not only "power up their day at Electric Beanz” -- they can enjoy the works of local artists as well.
Starling is a self-taught photographer who got his start working on his middle school year book. Today, he is a successful fine art and commercial photographer with a passion for creating custom photography that helps companies build their unique brand.
Located in Raleigh, North Carolina, Electric Beanz Coffee Bar is a locally owned and operated café that first opened its doors in 2009. Owner Terri Voltz is committed to supporting art – even when it comes to coffee. "Making an espresso is a craft," Voltz notes. "We have baristas that are true artists -- they can pour awesome latte art."
Voltz is also committed to supporting the community at large. Not only does Electric Beanz use organic, free-trade espresso, the company supports local businesses by buying local products whenever possible. When it comes to her business, Voltz is all about putting customers first. Her vision for Electric Beanz was to create a one-of-a-kind environment where her customers would feel welcome and truly enjoy their experience. To achieve this, Electric Beanz proudly hosts a variety of art, music and poetry events that feature up-and-coming artists direct from the local community. Electric Beanz features a different artist each month, and is a participating venue in the Art After Dark Art Loop for Fuquay Varina & Holly Springs.
As a photographer, Starling shares Voltz’s customer care philosophy. "I leave my ego at home when working with a client. Unlike some photographers, who won't allow clients to see their photos until they have been edited, I welcome client involvement," Starling explains. "That’s why I use digital technology that allows them to see the images as I create them. I can follow my own personal vision on my own time. When working with clients, my focus is on making their vision a reality."
As part of the Art After Dark Art Loop for Fuquay Varina & Holly Springs, Electric Beanz Coffee Bar will host an artist reception for Jamie Starling on February 11, 2011 from 7pm to 9pm. Electric Beanz will also feature live music by local musician Doug Babcock, as well as a wine tasting by Rag Apple Lassie Wines. Electric Beanz is located at 8109 Fayetteville Rd, Suite 113, Raleigh, North Carolina in the Harris Teeter Shopping Center.
