Just received the link below from the US Chamber of Commerce.
Mickie and I will be making a donation since we're at a loss as to what we can do and our grown children will be with us for the holidays, so like so many we are heartbroken during a normal time of joy.
I hate the feeling of being helpless to do anything and this at least let's me think I can be part of a positive action.
I am very leary of "fund raising" during times like this and skeptical of many of the National Organizations really "getting the money to those who it's intended for".
So when I saw that this was the Local United Way that works in that part of CT and have staff members who live in Newtown was working with a local Bank - I thought I'd share this.
If interested you can make a donation here... United Way of Western Connecticut
I still feel brokenhearted but helping helps.

Comment by Megan Cutter on December 18, 2012 at 10:44am I graduated from Randolph-Macon Woman's College in 1998. A sister graduate Jenny Sullivan Hubbard ('95) lost her daughter, Catherine, in the shooting last week. Catherine dreamed of opening an animal shelter when she grew up, so the family has requested that donations be made to the local Newtown animal shelter. This is a lovely tribute to her memory. Here is the information if you are interested in donating & there is a link on their website:
