Just wanted to put up a tribute page for anyone who wanted to check in today.

There is a lot I could say about Dr King but let me keep this simple.

I was 12, lived in the South and saw all the signs that separated people by holding some down - Dr. King taught me as much as my own Mom and Dad about human beings and where not only others fit in but where I fit in.

An extremely important American.

Thanks Pat for posting this. Growing up in DC he was my personal hero and his death was also very personal to me as well. "Our hero was killed" and I was very mad a young person. You inspired me to re-post on Inside919 an article I wrote a while ago about my experience of that time.

I believe that our strength our country is our striving that we have equal rights and protection under the law regardless of race, color or creed, but Dr King's dream of all Americans walking together is what I appreciate the most. Dr. King and this Day inspired me to make this statement in another communication this morning: *Power lies in the change process, with natural passion as its main ingredient and growth its fruit-of-the-heart!* I am sharing it as a tribute to his Leadership for Change. May this commemoration herald the process that I believe 2012 is about: "The Year of Change and Opportunity" that follows 2011, the Year of Struggle and Overcoming.
