“Our culture is big on comfort and small on sacrifices.” Beth Moore
Love it, Hate it! Now what about those poses that we all “love to hate?” I can always remember Cindy’s (our studio owner) least liked pose and how far she’s come with the benefits it’s provided her. The hardest, most challenging and disliked positions are the ones that we need the most. In a coaching relationship we call the negative voices that haunt, defeat and hold us back from our dreams, the Saboteur or Gremlin. The irony is that if the saboteur is there, that is the place to look. Looking in the direction of our Saboteurs can be a formidable challenge to confront, but what awaits us on the other side is our Selves. Once we identify the factors of this equation, the rest is a matter of regular and conscious practice.
Think in terms of learning & doing the posture correctly--then get the full benefits. In coaching, we don’t think in terms of success or failure; every action, event, thought and expression is an opportunity to learn.
As said in the greatest text of Yoga, the Bhagavad Gita, "Be Steadfast in Yoga, O Arjun. Perform your duty without attachment, remaining equal to success or failure. Such equanimity is called yoga."

This principle of paying attention to what is uncomfortable is a good idea in all areas of one's life. Thanks for writing about this.
We find that our clients may have previously put off thinking about what can be done for older family members until a crisis arises. We try to work with families to prevent crisis.
