It's the little things sometimes that we miss the most.
For the first time in over 4 1/2 years I didn't get the opportunity to wish someone on Inside919 a Happy Birthday.
Most days it would be 10-30 people and in frankness I always found it to be one of the benefits of my job.
I never missed a day in all that time.
Sometimes I'd have to do the wishing a little later in the morning for those super packed mornings, but it was always done and with pleasure.
Today for the first time we have no birthdays.
The cool thing is that today is my eldest daughter Amber's birthday - my girls always come through for Daddy :)
So in order to keep my streak going another day I just used my space to send her a public wish.
Birthdays matter and if you're reading this I hope your next one is your very best.

Comment by Pat Howlett on August 3, 2012 at 7:14am In the past I haven't encouraged members to participate in the wishing of Happy Birthday to others.
In frankness there were too many people who were somewhat anonymous and would simply use the opportunity to promote and there were too many birthdays to keep up with so it would fill up the activity stream for hours.
Well moving forward we're going to have much more of a "Small Town" atmosphere around here so please start looking to the left on the home page and pass along a nice wish to your fellow resident.
Not encouraging anyone to become the "Birthday Wisher" (that job is filled :) but you'll start to REALLY get to know folks now and when you see that familiar face let em know.
