Comment by Lauren Massie, Tax Specialist on January 8, 2013 at 10:19am What are your thought on the mobile conversion option offered by Wordpress?
Comment by Stacey Shanahan ~ Community Mgr. on January 8, 2013 at 11:12am Hello Lauren, thanks for connecting. WordPress is trying a couple of things in-order to catch up with mobile, they offer plugins such as "WPTouch" and newer WordPress themes are made in percentages instead of pixels, so that they can scale to the size of the device.
Both of these solutions are better then not having a mobile website; However, if you're really trying to compete in the mobile search engines and convert traffic into leads you need to take the time to plan out your mobile website.
You need to have an enticing "call to action" and give the prospect exactly what they are searching for. Another words, the WordPress mobile version will convert your entire website. Mobile visitors are looking to cut to the chase. Short and Sweet!
I hope this is helpful. Please don't hesitate to call if you have further questions. If you are interested in learning more about going mobile, my business partner and I would be happy to schedule an appointment to discuss your mobile needs. ~Stacey

Comment by Pat Howlett on January 8, 2013 at 11:27am Love what Stacey and Teresa are doing and HIGHLY recommend all Insiders really think about this - I'm personally a big fan of "Mobile Landing Pages" for us micros.
On a different note I don't call mine a "Smartphone" because it's only a phone 10% of the time - I call mine my... "PalmBrain" cause that's more what it is to me these days :]

Comment by Teresa Robinson on January 8, 2013 at 1:41pm Stacey - great answer to Lauren's question. There is real design involved in a mobile website or a landing page! You want to take advantage of your potential client's visit to your mobile site by asking them to do something - a CALL TO ACTION (CTA for short).

Comment by Gaynor Fries, 919 Director on January 11, 2013 at 3:45pm Mobile is sooo important. Hope some of our Insiders seriously consider this great offer.

Comment by Teresa Robinson on January 11, 2013 at 3:45pm Don't miss the Insider To Insider deal that we are offering through January 31. We're giving fellow Inside919ers a 50% discount on a mobile landing page. A mobile landing page is a 1-page website with a single message and a single call to action. Call us! This is an incredible deal!
