During the last week in January the U.S .Department of Transportation authorized new airline regulations that will help consumers--you and me--be treated fairly when they modify their travel plans.
In recent years the soaring prices of airline tickets and our ability to cancel or change our travel plans
without expensive penalties has affected our ability to travel for leisure, business or even family emergencies .This new regulation will allow passengers to hold an airline reservation for 24 hours without payment and if you purchase a ticket you can cancel in 24 hours without penalties. This new regulation applies only to airline tickets reserved or purchased more than a week from the flight's departure. This is a step in the right direction.
