I love the NFIB and often refer many of their classes and seminars. Here's the latest one.
We are all familiar with I-9, if you've ever held a 9 to 5 then you had to complete that one page form, provide copies of your drivers license, birth certificate, passport, etc. The purpose of this is quite simple, to prove you are qualified to work in the US.
I do know that often micro… Read More

If you're like me you aren't perfect. In fact (surprise) you make mistakes even with the best intentions only to discover yet ANOTHER thing you need to work on (note to God: "seriously?") If you don't have these experiences than I charge you to begin to examine your life because truly you may not be paying attention.
Do you ever do this: You could be having the best day ever with full intentions to only have a good day. Everything seems to be working just as you've prayed and hoped.… Read More

As many of us are still recovering or supporting those who are recovering from the April 16, 2011 tornado that hit several counties including Wake and Johnston, filing taxes by the April 18, 2011 may seem like a extra burdoen to bare.
President Obama recently declared areas affected by the tornado disaster areas and with this, both Federal and State tax deadlines have been extended. The original deadline for 2010 Federal returns was Monday April 18, 2011, three days later than the… Read More

Well it's sort of both! If you are like millions who prepare your taxes yourself you may (or may not) know that until today you couldn't file your return if you plan to take itemized deductions. In most cases if you've already "filed" your return using services such as Turbo Tax, the IRS COULD have held your return for processing until today.
Due to last minute tax legislation passed in December 2010, the IRS needed a few extra weeks update its system to comply with the new 2010 Tax… Read More

The NFIB published in the January/February Issue of MyBusiness Magazine
that many… Read More

As an accountant, entrepreneur and now CEO of a Bookkeeping company, I spend a great amount of time preaching the importance of small businesses being PROACTIVE in managing their businesses. I was reading and posted today regarding our Nation's Capital issue of a Tax amnesty for residents or taxpayers who may owe the Capital City and naturally being an 919-er I wanted to post something similar for you! If you may not know what a Tax Amnesty is, it's basically the Department of Revenue's way of forgiving you of any penalties and fees due for unpaid taxes, giving you an opportunity to make good on those taxes. There is a short window (typically 60 days) and not all taxes are… Read More
