Kodak’s True Colors Shining Through – Did Baby Boomers Drop the Ball?

News of the near death of the Kodak Corporation filled the news late last week and somehow slowly pushed aside competing thoughts in my brain like college football, NFL football, college basketball, the Iowa Caucus, the New Hampshire primary and a broken water pipe in my kitchen.

On Sunday as I…

Real Estate, Taylor Swift and Kanye West

Even if you don't like music you probably know who Taylor Swift and Kanye West are. Kanye West made quite an impression, and not a positive one, at the AVMA awards in 2009 when he jumped on stage and interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech for a music award.

What does this have to do with… Read More

What I learned from Watching Kids at Play

I spent last weekend at the beach (also known as the “shore” to some from other regions) in South Carolina. It was a wonderful weekend and the weather was perfect. The resort I was staying at had lots of children and watching them couldn’t help but make you happy.

When kids are happy they sing to you, they sing to their friends, they sing to anyone that will listen, even the squirrels and birds were receiving melodies from the kids. Another thing that made me smile were all…

Are you one of the many who has never had a massage?

Have you received a gift certificate for massage and still have not used it?

Do you think about making an appointment and just never get around to it?

Most of our lives revolve around work and caring for our families with little time for you. One of my clients told me recently that when she looked into her date book and saw that her massage appointment was the next day she said…

A Century of Love

This past weekend my family spent the weekend in Southern Pines celebrating the 100th birthday of Kitty Muddimer or as we know her, “Aunt Kak”. Kak has lived an amazing life and I was most fortunate to have an opportunity to spend some time talking with her Saturday night over dinner. She is a woman that should inspire us all.

Katharine Wiley (later to become a Muddimer) was born on January 22, 1910. In her lifetime she witnessed the beginning of the “Air Age”, the start of… Read More

A Rainy Day at the Beach is better than a Sunny Day in the Office

I have been spending a few days working from the Myrtle Beach area this week. The first days were sunny and mild but Monday was rainy and cool and Tuesday is supposed to be the same. It doesn’t bother me a bit.

Hey, I’m at the beach! I know I’m still working but “I’m working at the beach, ya’ll”.

For Dinner one night I cruised up to Calabash for seafood that was amazing. When I look out my window I see the waves rolling onto the beautiful sandy beach. Last night I drove… Read More

What Message is your business sending?

I had a busy weekend that started with a dryer that wouldn’t dry. My wife who thinks I can fix just about anything let me know that our ten year old clothes dryer wasn’t heating up. We quickly figured out where the heating element was located and on Friday I began my journey to find the parts I needed.

After some research I found two shops that advertised they carried the part I thought I needed and looked for the one that was near our house and made the call. The phone was answered… Read More
