You are great to work with, and a I can't imagine a better friend to have! Hopefully together we can help make Triangle businesses flourish even more than they already are, and do our part to make the Triangle the best area to live and work in!

To a Log Cabin in the beautiful North Carolina mountains

I am both happy and sad to announce that Geoff and I have decided to retire (in a fuller sense of that word than is now the case) and will be moving to the mountains a little over 200 miles west of Cary, when a log cabin with a lovely view that we have purchased there, has been made suitable for occupancy. We will then sell our house in Cary. As we all know only too well, this is a tough time to start and maintain a new business and although it has been fun and challenging, for many reasons we f… Continue

N.I.M.B.Y.

I'm sure you have all heard of NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard)? We have probably all been guilty of it. I did an exercise for myself the other day -- I tried to find a use of my space for every single letter of the alphabet! It was so muc… Continue

being a small business owner

I never thought I would or could start a small business. There are not countless small business opportunities I could have enrolled in at my age (having never really worked in my life --a retired husband, grown children) but to choose a route that makes me accountable every single waking day of my life from here on out, is uncharacteristic of me, at best! To have to make the rent payment every month on the germ of an idea can be scary. I look at all the women I know who have no storefront, no ov… Continue
