Women's Business Networking Portfolio

I am currently starting a new portfolio for my Mary Kay business that is going to be showcasing local business women. This portfolio will travel with me to all of my facials and parties. I am looking forward to this being a great networking tool for both myself and the women that I will be featuring. My goal is to have 100 women in the portfolio by the end of September!

Well, having the kids helps, but I think we really owe it to all future generations(and ourselves) to be using the resources of the planet wisely. Being green is a lifestyle that I'm always looking for ways to do better. Right now I offer people ways to go green without buying a prius, though that's not a bad idea. I help people be green from the inside - out. What are you doing to live naturally? Did you have health issues, or just being preventative?

Melinda,

Hello - I have a non-profit organization called Star Foundation it is a Youth Mentoring and Community Outreach program in Durham. I host many events in Durham and Raleigh. I will be having an event this Saturday from 1pm-7pm

Go to www.star-foundation.org and check it out. I also have Buck Heads in Downtown Raleigh where we host on Saturday nights from 7pm to 10pm; we have live music and a Social networking - where I invite people from inside919 and friends to come out and support our inside919 family and if you wanted to bring your samples or even sell your product that would be fine.

We have several ways we can work things it depends on your needs; for example a lot of start up companies would rather donate a % of their profit to star foundation for letting them set up a booth and then some would just rather pay for the booth ($45) and keep their profits, but because we are non-profit either way you get our 503-C credit ( for tax write-off) for being a part of our events and we try to host one every other weekend somewhere to raise money for the star foundation kids.

Because you are a family member now you will have all kinds of doors open up for you if you want them too.

Welcome aboard and please visit our web site and let me know if I can help you in anyway; by the way I have a friend that promotes models in Durham and if you would like I could set up something so you and he could see if you could network to help each other as well.

Just noticed you joined Inside919 Melinda -- WELCOME! So glad you became a member. This is a great place to develop a network of people who can help you grow your business.

I know what a challenge it is to grow a business, especially when you're new in the area. You might consider joining the Make it Profitable group. There are some great discussions going on that will likely be very profitable for you.

Again, glad to have you here at Inside919.

All my best,

Justin Lukasavige

PS One other thing...I offer a free e-resource entitled "101 Free and Low-cost Ideas to Grow Your Business" ($47 Value) to those who join the Reader's Group community (also free) at LukasCoaching.com/joinus. Feel free to check it out. I really think you'll get a ton out of both these resources.

The best way to get started is to watch the videos that Pat Howlett pointed out to you, and also spend time looking at the profiles, blog posts, and forum posts of this site's Trustees (roll your mouse over the insiders tab on the menu and choose Trustees from the drop-down). You'll see great examples from myself, Dave Baldwin, Pat Howlett, and Heather O on generating relationships and personal branding without resorting to the 'recruiting' stance some take. Find people you have something in common with, always think about how someone you come across can help someone else, not just you, and you'll be on your way. Join us at our inside919 Final Thursday social and you'll be surprised how much fun you have after checking out profiles and communicating with people!

Welcome, Melinda! Feel free to reach out and begin connecting. You will meet lots of great new people if you engage in pull vs push marketing; check out the Trustee's pages to get a good feel for what that is. Let us know how we can help you get acclimated. Looking forward to your participation and contributions!
