About my Business:: My business, Elliott Editorial Online, offers the follwing services: developmental editing, substantive editing, copyediting, and proofreading of fiction; literary nonfiction; general nonfiction; literary criticism; master’s theses and PhD dissertations; textbooks on law, criminal justice, political science; textbooks for teachers. Also copyediting of the bimonthly Bookmarks Magazine. Target market includes academic and university presses, trade publishers (e.g., Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill), and master’s and PhD candidates working on theses and dissertations, respectively. Other info: freelance editor since 1991; fiction writer; college/university instructor of English composition and literature, 1972–2002.

About Me:: I am a doddering, nearly deaf, nearly toothless, tinnitus-suffering single homosexual emeritus 65-year-old fart who nevertheless follows the advice of the UNNAMED and so UNNAMEABLE narrator of Samuel Beckett's novel THE UNNAMEABLE:

Naipaul (A BEND IN THE RIVER, GUERRILLAS, THE ENIGMA OF ARRIVAL); Cormac McCarthy (A CHILD OF GOD, BLOOD MERIDIAN, ALL THE PRETTY HORSES); the novels of a Hollins College classmate, Thomas McGonigle (THE CORPSE DREAM OF N. PETKOV, set in Sofia, Bulgaria, soon after the Soviet Union annexed, and plundered, the country; GOING TO PATCHOGUE; and ST. PATRICK'S DAY DUBLIN 1974; and much much more!

When I get my new hearing aid on April Fool's Day 2013, I'll relish hearing, after a hiatus of eight years, the symphonies of Beethoven, Bruckner, Mahler; the ballet scores of Igor Stravinsky (THE RITE OF SPRING most of all); and, again, much much more.

1. I encourage you to review the 'Groups' page and join the "Business Networking In" Group for your town. Reach out to the other members there. There may be other Groups you find relevant that you may like to join.

2. Also make sure you're showing up in our new Business Directory (the key is to make sure the category name used in the Directory is in the "About my Business" field on your Profile (click "Settings" to the right).

3. Keep an eye on the Events Calendar which will give you a list of networking events or training sessions that other members have posted.
