Profile Information

About my Business:: I am president of the Franklin County Humane Society (www.fchsnc.org). We are a volunteer organization in the Wake Forest, Youngsville, Franklinton and Louisburg and we rescue animals from the local county facility in Louisburg. We are always looking for volunteers and fosters for the animals we pull. We also run a low cost spay and neuter program for low income residents of Franklin County, and we hold two large fundraisers, a golf tournament and a 5k run/one mile dog walk, annually to support the spay/neuter program and our foster program.

About Me:: I am a wife, mother, professional, and volunteer who is trying to make a difference in the lives of the animals of Franklin County. I have a full-time job with a biotech company, but also spend a lot of my time trying to manage and expand the Franklin County Humane Society. My husband, Gunnar, and I have two sons who are 25 and 19, three dogs and one cat. We live in Franklinton.

My Ideal Referral is:: Anyone with some time to volunteer to help animals. People who want to foster are very sought after because the more fosters we have, the more animals we can save. But anyone with time to help is welcome and appreciated. We also have opportunities for volunteers to help answer phone calls and emails, transport animals to vet appts and foster homes, help with adoption events on the weekends, and help with our two big fundraising events each spring and fall.

My Ideal Referral Partner is:: Anyone who knows people also willing to donate time to help animals.

1. I encourage you to review the 'Groups' page and join the "Business Networking In" Group for your town. Reach out to the other members there. There may be other Groups of interest - I see that Pat has pointed you to the Pet Group - great place to start!

2. Keep an eye on the Events Calendar which will give you a list of networking events or training sessions that other members have posted.
