Justin, well said. There's a simple planning rule the military uses, when you get to 80% - execute your plan! Many moons ago, when I was a paratrooper, we'd jump onto a huge field, sometimes miles long. When you landed, you had to walk to an asse...

Nice light to shine this morning, Justin. The truth is if you want to be successful, you may NOT know HOW! You must have a WHY for doing it and a plan to simply start. Perfection is just one of a plethora of excuses people have for doing nothing.

About my Business:
Lukas Coaching measures success not by how much money we make, but how many lives we help change.

My team focuses on helping people develop strategies and action plans to become debt-free and find or create work they love. We don't stop there however; we actually help them implement those ideas in their lives.
About Me:
I'm a husband and father of 3 girls, all under 4 years old. I love it!

I'm self-employed and am the owner of Lukas Coaching. Many years ago I decided I needed to follow my passion and turn it into a business. I did it so rapidly that I found many business owners asking me to help them do the same. I absolutely love it!

The work I do consists of 3 things:

1. Helping small and medium sized businesses and their owners reach profitability quickly (I'm focused on 12 months or less)

2. Helping individuals discover their life's passion and turn it into income. It's almost always possible and many of my clients have gone on to create six-figure incomes while pursuing their dreams. That doesn't always happen, but it is a by-product of doing something you absolutely love.

3. I'm the host of Past Due: Radio, heard Saturday mornings in the Triangle on AM 1030 from 9 - 10am. I cover career and business topics and help my listeners and callers turn their passions into profits.
My Ideal Customer is:
Someone who is ready for a change and isn't happy with normal. If your ideas aren't working for you, then you need to find ideas that do. Don't just dream big... DO big!
My Ideal Referral Partner is:
CPA, attorney and anyone else who interacts with business owners.

You'll Never Guess who Invented Windows

It wasn't Windows or even Apple.

It was actually Xerox working out of a research center in California. While they were at it they also invested the mouse.

What's your passion? Are you doing something about it? Continue

The Middle will Crush Your Business

Wal-Mart has a killer business because their prices are low. They're the best at low prices and no one can beat them in a price war.

Saddleback Leather is expensive but they're the best. No one can compete with their quality and their 100 year guarantee (or Dave's wit and sense of humor -- buy the best, cry once).

If you're the low-cost provider most people assume you have a decent product at the best price; a great place to be.… Continue

Perfection Leads to Procrastination

I used to fail all the time. I'd plan and plan then step back, analyze and plan some more trying to get it perfect. I planned so much trying to get things perfect that I'd never make anything happen.

Most of my clients try to plan their businesses, products, and services to 100% before launching. They might get to 98% in their plans and have trouble with the remaining 2%; so they never launch.

It's rare that I ever plan beyond 40 - 60% in my business now. I have clearly defined dreams but lack… Continue

You Don't Stop Struggling when You Make it Big

It takes a lot of financial backing to make to the presidency of the United States. You spend years of hard work (some say a lifetime) to get there. You sacrifice through long hours, dinners away from family and other family activities. It's a lot of work but for those become elected to the presidency, it's worth it.

After all those years of struggling to make it I don't think anyone ever stops struggling. Now there are ideas to sell bills to pass and people to win over.

I doubt I'll ever stop… Continue

Bill Gates didn’t have Computer Access

At 13 years old Bill Gates snuck out of the house nearly every night for the only computer access he could find at the time. The year was 1968 and he would set his alarm so he could arrive to the lab at 3 am. He'd do his thing until 6am and then sneak back home.

Years later his mom found out and finally put the pieces together. She had wondered why he always had a hard time getting out of bed.

What is it that you're so passionate about that you'd sacrifice sleep? Why aren't you doing it?… Continue

I will have to talk with my husband. The soonest would be next week. The hard part would be getting out there. He is in the store from 9 am to 7 pm just about every day. He definitely needs to be a part of it b/c he has some ideas of what he is looking for. Are you available to meet early (like 8 a.m.) and are you willing to do a consultation out of the office? Thanks

I wanted to speak to you about the retail business my husband and I own. He is finally convinced that we need to locate someone who can review what we have done and what we are doing to see what we can do better. This covers everything from marketing to inventory per sq foot. I know he spoke with David Kellerman today, but David wasn't sure he could be of assistance since his forte is not the retail business. Are you the guy I'm looking for? Or do you have any suggestions?

I am currently out of town, but will be back on Saturday. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks!

Thank you for your welcome. Have owned my own companies for almost 25 years and not sure what I will do now. I am looking for a sales position now. I'm working a small consulting project and helping a small company with sales. If you have any ideas...let me know. Thanks!

Hey Justin, I hope you are well. Just wanted to touch base with you. We should get together again to brainstorm how we can help each other in our businesses. Maybe over a cup of coffee or at my office in Apex. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hey Justin... thank you for leaving a message on my wall. I have updated my page to match my website. I have not been active in the past year on Inside919 and things have changed. I am still involved with the air purification business but am now focusing more on what I love to do.

Thanks for the link you provided ... I will definitely review it.

Robini :-)
