Today's business owners understand that technology investments can create competitive advantage. However, selecting, implementing and maintaining technology systems in a way that creates that competitive advantage requires a specialized skill set. Hiring full-time employees with these skills is expensive. We bring the efficiency and knowledge of a large I.T. department to small and medium businesses for a fraction of the cost of hiring full-time I.T. staff. The return our customer’s see is the ability to rely on their computerized systems so they can focus on their core business.
About Me:
-I grew up in southern N.C.

-I'm a proud graduate of Appalachian State University

-I married my beautiful wife and best friend in the Gazebo at Battery Park in Charleston, SC. That's a day I wish I could re-live.

-I have one son who teaches me so much about life and how to be a better person.

-In my free time, my wife and I enjoy riding motorcycles (we aren't scary bikers, we just enjoy riding).

I grew up an outdoorsman and still love the lakes, swamps and forests. I have a special affinity for the mountains.

I love to cook (especially BBQ and smoked meats), work on things with my son and my wife (she actually enjoys it too) and the History channel.
My Ideal Referral is:
My ideal customers are businesses that value their computer systems and want to ensure that their systems are robust, reliable and secure. Also, businesses that want to ensure that the value of their investments in technology is maximized.
My Ideal Referral Partner is:

10 Things That Define a True Professional

Posted on March 13, 2013 at 9:04am 2 Comments

I ran across and article this morning that I thought I would share. I see these lists every day. Most seem a bit arbitrary to me and many are information technology related, so I do not share them with a broader audience. However, this one crosses industry lines and can apply to anyone.

As I read through the list, I thought about my own growth over the years. Some of these characteristics are a natural part of my character and some, I've learned over the years. Still others, I…

Data Backup – File Based Vs. Image Based

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 9:00am 5 Comments

On average, about 70% of small businesses do some sort of data backup.  This covers a broad spectrum of backup technologies from manual copying of files to fully automated backup and backup monitoring.  Many small business owners out there do not know all of the technologies that are available and/or the implications of using each.

File Based Backup

I will start with the technology that most people are familiar with…..file based backup.  File based backup is, simply…

Revealing the Hidden Costs of Frugality

I posted this recently on my Facebook page, but thought I would share it here as well.

As a business owner, have you ever purchased a new PC from Best Buy or, dare I say it, Wal-Mart? Most of the desktops and laptops (systems) sold by these establishments are consumer grade products. What was the justification for the model you selected? For many business owners, the justification is purely one of immediate need and price. Can the new system do what I need it…

Cloud storage by a local vendor - would you use?

Hi everyone,I have several customers now who need off site storage. It is a service that I would love to provide, but I don't want to invest in the infrastructure if only for a few folks. So, I was wondering how many of you would be more inclined to utilize "cloud" based storage and, perhaps other services, if the service was geographically local? Why does it matter? I have found that some people are timid about storing data on the cloud (me for example). Mainly, I don't know where my data will…See More
