- About my Business:
- As the owner of my web-design company, Barking Bird Media, I enjoy creating websites, particularly websites that are EFFECTIVE at engaging the website viewer and converting them into customers. There is done primarily two ways: great layout and design and on-site optimization for the search engines. I like to do this by creating a homepage that has a strong visual impact, which can generate a reaction from viewers, whether it is a "Wow!" a smile, or simply a feeling equivalent to "Yes, this is someone I want to know more about!"
There is a high degree of effectiveness in simplicity (after all, it worked for Steve Jobs and Apple). Complicated homepages with a lot of "stuff" turn people off and visitors to "busy" websites tend to leave quickly and visit another website. That is why I specialize in creating effective, yet simple websites (especially homepages) that have an impact.
I have a passion for helping small/solo business owners who need top-quality website at a price that they can afford. It isn't always easy to launch a small business and successfully sustain it, which is why small business owners need to all the help they can get to bring in paying customers. These days, having an effective website is necessary, which is something I enjoy doing for small business owners.

- I am married with two step-children, two dogs, two cats, one bird, and one fish. I have always been a "dog-person," but we recently rescued a kitten from the parking lot at Buffalo Wild Wings and I have inadvertently bonded with her. So, now I am also a cat person (well, at least with the cute, affectionate, playful ones). I transplanted myself from Rochester, NY in 1998 to escape the persistent gray, cloudy skies. I used to downhill ski and play ice-hockey, but lately I have been enjoying family time more than anything.
