About my Business:
At the Ayurvedic Bodywork Center, we practice massage techniques that enable our clients to nurture their own health, restore balance, and create greater joy and fulfillment in their lives. Massage, but especially ayurvedic massage practices, increase circulation, stimulate detoxification, and calm the nervous system and mind. We will honor silence during your treatments, allowing you to slip into a meditative and rejuvenating state of well-being.
Ayurveda, or "life science" is the 5,000 year old system of health care stemming from ancient India. We are honored to practice in the ayurvedic tradition and greatly respect the integrity of the practice.
About Me:
I have been practicing massage therapy for seven years. My mission in bodywork is simple: help people to attain vibrant health and well being.
After earning my Bachelor of Science in 1999 from University of North Carolina at Greensboro in the field of Human Development and Family Studies, specifically Child and Adolescent Development, I spent several years working with a variety of special needs populations. My focus on massage therapy began as I felt I would make a larger impact on the lives of the people in my community.
My first years as a therapist, I concentrated on mastering Neuromuscular Therapy, attending continuing education with Paul St. John and applying those skills under the supervision of my mentor, Laura Landsiedel. I also obtained certifications in pregnancy massage, infant massage instruction, and recently in Integrative Neuromuscular Myofascial Therapy.
I have had the great distinction of working at the Chopra Center for Wellbeing in Carlsbad, Ca, founded by ayurvedic physician and author Deepak Chopra. Here I learned Ayurvedic Massage Therapy and Panchakarma administration. I served as
Assistant Supervisor in the Chopra Center Spa before moving to Boston where I held the Therapeutic Bodywork Team Lead at Wellspace, a large integrative healthcare center.
My travels have taken me to live in New Zealand and on extensive visits to Thailand and Costa Rica. I am an avid yoga practitioner and meditator.
My Ideal Customer is:
Someone who wants to live a better, healthier and more balanced life through understanding that health is the manifestation of balance between our environment, body, mind and spirit. It is not just the absence of disease that defines “health.” Rather, ayurveda views vibrant health as your birthright.
My Ideal Referral Partner is:
Medical and Chiropractic physicians, holistic practioners, life coaches, sports coaches, anyone who knows someone stressed or in pain.
