yes
About my Business:
Jesica's Hope Chest, Inc. (a foundation for critically ill children) helps families with critically ill children bridge the gap in income they experience as their child receives treatment. Even for families with two working parents and insurance, many costs associated to catastrophic illness are not covered by any other means--especially when many of these children must travel far from home for treatment; our goals are to maintain a child's access to treatment as well as make sure that they still have the comfort of their home to return to once treatment has finished. This helps maintain the sense of normalcy as much as possible during this difficult time. Some of the most common costs Jesica's Hope Chest will help fund are transportation costs to and from the child's treatment facility, rent, electric or other household bills, and specialized equipment not covered by insurance.
About Me:
My name is Emily, and I'm the director of Jesica's Hope Chest, Inc. (a foundation for critically ill children)--a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Louisburg. When I'm not organizing fundraising events, speaking to groups about the importance of being generous/how they can help and make a difference, writing grants, processing incoming children's grant applications, etc. etc., I'm playing with my basset hounds, reading, traveling, or at a turkey shoot. :o) I also love to edit/revise anything I can get my hands on (I have a master's degree in Professional Writing & Editing), and teach others to learn how to love improving their writing.
My Ideal Referral Partner is:
A local business looking to partner up for a fundraiser--not only will this include lots of visibility/advertising for the business, all donations are tax deductible and will help critically ill children!
I hope your New Year is going well. We have posted an event for February 13th called "Divas after Dark" Entrepreneur and Social Networking Groups Spa Party? We're going to have a great group of business women attending! I hope you consider joining us. We are looking forward to community marketing and future collaborations among us.
Let us know if you’ll be able to make it, you’re unsure or if you are unable to make it. The last day to RSVP is Thursday, February12th, 2009. We are trying to get a head count in advance to make sure there is enough food, seating, etc
ok, i'll see thursday anytime from 9:30 a.m. onward. thanks for coming. oh, i have another idea (actually somebody else gave it to me) about having an event that would raise money for a number of non-profits at the same time. remind me to tell you about it.
Coming to Oxford on Monday and Thursday next week would be OK. Maybe even come right to our warehouse on 604 West Industry Drive.
Tuesdays are not good days. Wednesday, I work out of my home in Chapel Hill so I could meet you whereever (even in Wake Forest - even if it's at/near Wal-Mart or downtown Wake Forest at whatever the name of a large diner is [i can't remember]). Fridays, I also work out of my home and I maybe able to meet then.
I was tallking to Christina Thompson (also on Inside919.com) and she recommended that I talk to you about fundraisers. She said that you probably have lots of things to tell me. Contact me with any days/times that I can call you. Thanks.
Thanks for the kudos! I work for a NP during the day, and we definitely felt the hit financially. I may add a NP section to TriangleB2B...

Emily,
Are you considering heading to Chapel Hill for the New Years Eve party at my house. We're going to have nice group of people. We're going to have lots of time to get to know each other too.
Are you going to be here around on New Years Eve? If so, then check out the New Years Eve party that I'm hosting for Inside919er's (under the Events section of Inside919).
Also, there is a group called the Granville Leads Group that meets in Creedmoor, NC at Jon's Main Street Bar & Grill, Creedmoor, NC. We meet every Tuesday at 11-12 (even though there is no requirement to come each Tuesday [as I can't come each Tuesday]. It costs $25.00 per year. It starts back on Tuesday, January 6, 2009. Not sure that I'll be there but I don't have to be there for you to come. They'll notice that you're new and they'll let you introduce yourself (and you can mention that I told you about the Group). They don't have a website yet.
There is another group called the Granville Business Network (which focuses on Vance and Granville County but we do have one person in the group that is from Wake Forest and she attends. We have another lady who has 2 offices (in Raleigh and in Oxford) and she is in charge of the group.

The group now has open networking from 7:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. and the sit-down meeting starts at 7:45 a.m.
Welcome, Emily! I think I played a benefit for you guys a few years back with Keith Henderson. Your group does such wonderful work, and I'm sure you'll find some people on here who would love to help. Best wishes!
