Hi Dyck, I like your position on the Occupy movement. A lot of people have a poor understanding of what it is about. We're not against capitalism at all! Glad to be connected with you.

Can't sign on Dyck, I kinda like capitalism as a basis for our economy. I'll leave it at that, as not to get into a drawn-out debate on the subject.

Diogenes Ruiz ~ Music Go to Guy commented on Dyck Dewid's blog post 'OccupyRaleigh is Alive, Growing, Causing Change'
Dyck, I think the Occupy movement has noble goals but the execution and vagueness of the whole thing is frustrating. I would rather put effort into an "Occupy Local" movement to achieve the goals. See www.occupy-local.com for more.…

Hi Dyck, thank you for your post. I could not get the StatementofUnity.doc. Because ownership of the media has become so extremely concentrated in recent years, people truly have been brainwashed into thinking that the Occupy movement is a political…

Profile Information

About my Business:
Remodeling and Repair are how one sees results of my work. But, through people one will really know the results of my work. Relationships are the most important thing, because that's really what enables the desired outcome. Desired outcomes can include, Design Beauty, Updated Home, Project Speed, Repair Strength or Longevity, Feeling Better Indoors, Budget, Usability, Safety, etc.. Outcomes can also include trust, friendships, confidence, joy, pride, and many other more personal things.

General Contractor, Graduate Master Builder, Certified Graduate Remodeler, and Aging-In Place Design Specialist are designations I've earned over the years to help me expand my skills and then to communicate my competence. But, honesty and worthiness of trust is earned a different way.

Initially, there is a mutual selection process. We both need to feel we will make a good fit. it is important to me to meet and exchange our information openly. It is important for me to understand what you are looking for so I can determine if I can meet your needs. You will probably need to do some homework about my company work results, reputation and history. I can provide hundreds of references to start.

I am just like you in the sense I only want to work with people who are honorable and responsible. This is my personal criteria for my relationships with people who work for me, my suppliers, and my customers.
About Me:
Personal life and business life... you'll find the same person. I am an open book that and you can get lots of info via social media on the web. You will also get testimonials. You may not feel he fits with your style but you will know what you got, so you won't have to waste your time and mine. This feels better and is easier than having to keep track of various images or pretenses or tall stories or dodging foes.

I have so much fun with my life, including my Remodeling business. It is satisfying to seek out the fun and fullness of life and in the freshness of others.

So, I participate in many things that help me find what I'm looking for, e.g. Men's Inquiry Groups, InterPlay (a community that plays together), Retreats, Spanish Guitar (beginner), Krishnamurti Dialogues, Writing a Movie, Hospice, Poetry, Singing, Foreign Travel, Improv, and other things like my (education, marketing and production) business activities.

I don't want to pump up your view of me. I might be less than you might think... so what else is new? But, I am also possibly more than you or even I think. So, we'll see.
My Ideal Customer is:
Someone with character, who communicates openly, who trusts others, who has humor.
My Ideal Referral Partner is:
One who shares my principles of character and responsibility and who is an active learner like me. One whom I admire.

OccupyRaleigh is Alive, Growing, Causing Change

As a small business owner I am drawn to the Occupy Movement. I became involved and committed several months ago, finding compassion, courage and intelligence at the heart.

It's been so long overdue I feel, this historic grass roots world-wide effort to say........ STOP! We've had enough.

I share our official (one page) Statement of Unity here so you can get a taste of what this movement is about form its…

Life in the Slow Lane 1- Notes of a Hospice Volunteer

Posted on October 3, 2010 at 6:11pm 0 Comments

My patient, I'll call her Gardenia, must be in her last stages of life. She is growing weaker each week. But, it has seemed like this for the 9 months since I started my weekly visits. Her prognosis was failure to thrive. She has a bed from which she cannot move in the living room of a modest home. The youngest son and wife and two grandchildren live with her and her aged husband.

From the start she spoke so fluently. Now she is…

Martin Brossman's Workshop on Social Media

Posted on August 3, 2009 at 1:48pm 1 Comment

It is a bit unimaginable, the potential power of Social Media, except for the compelling instruction by Martin Brossman. Thanks to his 'living' what he teaches he is a credible force and tool to bring into my Remodeling and Repair company for more exposure and more of the business I want.

You don't normally see 'principle' or 'moral' based commercial workshops like Martins. It builds platforms for the reputable company to distinguish itself from the others. This is the underpinning… Continue
