Hi Teresa, welcome to the group and thanks for your thoughtful message. You make a good point, that pitching your opportunity to random people is wasted effort; then you're just a not very good salesperson. If you were a business owner, would you go out and try to get anyone to come work for you who is willing? No, you sort and qualify people by asking questions before you decide to hire them. Same in Network Marketing- you are a business owner! Good thing you already know this, you will be successful!

I am very new to this business and the last thing I want to been seen as is a "Newtwork Marketer". What I mean by this is, to be successful, it seems like you need to be involved in meaningful relationships with others first - establish a mutual respect for one another and get to know them as a person first.

I agree with Christine, you don't want to pitch what you do with everyone you meet. That will only put you in the same bucket as all the rest of the people that others try to avoid.

Just my two cents, but what do I know, I'm new to this after being a high school teacher for many years!

Hi Victor, You are just the person we need to meet. So glad you found 919 and this group. My Husband and I are committed to our network marketing business, but we know the commitment and time it takes to be successful. We would love to plan an event with you and any others who might want to. However, I have found that folks don't seem to respond when you just say, "let's plan an event sometime". I have tried this with several of my groups, but to no avail. Why don't we just do it and see who comes? I personally like a mixer type of event where we all just get to know each other and chat first. Then, we can plan another event that is somewhat more structured and give folks an opportunity to show or tell us individually about their products or services. What do you think?

Hello everyone. I'm new to the room. Just want to say hi and I look forward to connecting with my fellow Network Marketers in the area. It is a tough business and it is good to surround yourself with positive people who are trying to acheive the same. I think we should plan an event. do we want to plan a relaxing event like at a coffee shop, or hang out as a group at a nice restaruant, or in a meeing setting like at a hotel conference/meeting room?

So glad to "meet" more network marketers out there. I, too, am interested in face-to-face meeting, but only after 5 pm.
