Information

Stone Soup Projects

Stone Soup is a Brothers Grimm tale about returning soldiers and their guise to get a selfish, starving town to learn the lesson of cooperation.

Location: Villiage Square ;)

Latest Activity: May 5

What does this Group do?

A Monthly Group Project is proposed that is bigger than the Group.

It has a 'community good' at it's core.

Villiagers go into their virtual cupboards and bring a little of this and a little of that - pretty much what they can.

And something good results that we can be proud to have contributed to. A seperate 'Group' is set up by who ever volunteers to be the head cook (lead) and after the project is done we shut down that group and leave it as a 'time capsule'.

inSide919, provides the pot, the stone, the water and fire. You bring what you can along with your virtual spoon cause something tastys cookin.

I would really like to do something toward helping others find work/launch businesses in this time. Whether through Soco or not, i think that this is a big need.

Today is the last day of the Sockathon Stone Soup Project! With yesterday's press release, we had our second highest hits on the website! And today's off to a good start!

Thanks for your comments Mark! The socks will be going to locations of The National Coalition for the Homeless, around the country. I haven't checked to see where their location closest to here is!

Looks like you might be a good resource about local shelters and outreach ministries for another project! And maybe if there's a coalition local to here, we can get your help!~

It's been a goooooood project, and good experience.

Great video!!! I loved it. Both of you played your part very well.

Do you all need me to pass out socks (after November 1, 2008) to local homeless shelters, outreach ministries, etc in Carrboro, Chapel Hill, Durham, Creedmoor, Oxford, and Henderson? I can do that as
I know many places in those areas.

Just up new video featuring Christina Thompson as Sarah Palin and yours truly as Obama. Check it out on my Inside919 page. Christina sure nailed Sarah Palin's accent! Great job Christina!

Following this morning's breakfast event, people have a variety of ideas on contributing to this month's Stone Soup Project: the Sierra Club Socks Sock-athon.

To make it possible to hold several discussion threads, we've moved the Sock-athon discussion to its own group for the month.
