I'll have to admit that after 35 years of performing and getting rave reviews from Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Axl Rose, Cat Stevens, and Bill Graham to name a few, I have still made ten times the financial success in programs like www.power27.com/ark1 as I have as a musician! After 15 yrs. of performing in NC and having done the Duirham Blues Festival my first year here and having booked myself for 250 gigs acouple of years ago, I am still without a booking agent! I thought that the economy would drive some awesome booking agent out of the closet, but not yet! Got any ideas? I thought that after Starbucks hired me for 100 very well paying engagements, that it was on!

We must play to acquire the tools to play better to acquire the tools to play even better still. This progression does ensure that investment by the patron is used in their interest as their interest seem obvious to be the quality of play. So it is indeed all about the fans. Furthermore the difference in the playing and the preaching is that the value of expression is not in the quantity of your thought, but the quality of your soul, for a selfish soul cannot play.

Unless we are in the world of education, 80% of what we present is entertainment, and 20% content. We've got to keep the audience entertained (so they don't snooze). I make sure there is a laugh or an emotion expressed every few minutes and it is by design. I am trained as a keynote speaker by Steve Siebold, the only person that Bill Gove (1st president of NSA and 'father' of public speaking). Looking forward to getting to know all you entertainers!
