It started when some friends and I became aware that an 8 yr. old girl named Giovanna had been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Her father is a friend of ours. Their health insurance is inadequate to meet the mounting expenses. "Gio" is in now in the process of a year of treatment. We decided to create the GIO Foundation, inspired by Gio. It stands for "Giving Inspires Others". We wanted to help ease the family's financial burden. In 4 short months, we created two Harley Bike Rides and the main event which was held Oct. 17th. Altogether we raised over $7000 for this family. We could not have accomplished this without the support of many generous givers. It was an amazing experience. A huge THANK YOU to everyone. This will be an annual event. The GIO foundation will support many families who are having similar experiences. Giving Inspires Others and Ghandi said it wisely and beautifully; "You must be the change you wish to see in the world".
