Here's my take, Martin. A "tweetup" is an umbrella term for social event propagated through social media. Most of us know one another through social tools, but many of us have yet to meet face-to-face. Tweetups get us away from the keyboards and face-to-face with one another to be social--that is, after all, what "social media" is all about, right?
Tweetups rely on YOU, the tweeter, to work. Hit the streets, spread the word. Don't use Twitter? Use Facebook. Don't use Facebook? Use email!
Don't use email? Erm... use a telegraph? :)
I hope that makes sense. Anyone else?

Someone asked "is this just about Twitter" and it is about Business Networking, making some great connections and learning a few tips from some of the contributors of the book to name a few. I will or will ask someone to post something about what a Tweetup is shortly.
