The Triangle Association of Black Journalists (TABJ) will host “Role of Journalists in Social Media” from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturday April 18. The panel discussion will be held in 111 Carroll Hall (School of Journalism and Mass Communication) at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The discussion will cover the role journalists play in social media. The panel will be moderated by veteran journalist and author Beverly Mahone. Featured panelists include Kim Green, newsroom manager for WNCN 17, Pat Howlett, founder of insideareacodes.com, Paul Jones, Clinical Associate Professor of Information and Library Science at UNC Chapel Hill and director of iBiblio, a digital library of public domain and creative commons media, Wayne Sutton, social media strategist and one of Twitter’s top 100 users with 35 thousand followers, and iContact Community Manager James Wong.
